A massage is one of the best ways to relax and unwind, relieve muscular tension, increase your performance at work or in sport; and simply maintain an excellent standard of health.  Massage can focus on specific problem areas (e.g. head and neck, lower back etc.) or cover the whole body.  A massage is suggested as part of a regular program for stress management, and is beneficial for many ailments including the following:

  • Headaches and migraines
  • Muscle tension
  • Lower back pain
  • Limited flexibility
  • Stress and tension
  • Low energy levels
  • Poor posture

A range of massage techniques are offered Vinaka Wellbeing:

Relaxation Massage

A Relaxation Massage at Vinaka Wellbeing feels good, relaxes you and invigorates you!

A relaxation massage reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested as part of a regular program for stress management.

Remedial Massage

Remedial massage focuses on treating injuries, muscular aches and pains and postural imbalances. When muscles and tendons become damaged or impaired, knotted and tense or immobile, remedial massage provides a healing treatment that can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow. Remedial massage wholistically treats the whole body and traces discomfort as far as possible back to the original cause, healing both the cause of the disorder as well as the symptoms.

Chinese Massage

Chinese Massage is an ancient tradition, being part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This effective and comprehensive therapy is also closely related to Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture and Acupressure.

Shiatsu is a form of Japanese massage based on acupressure points, stimulating the vital points along the body's meridians in order to encourage healing and maintaining good health.  Clients generally remained clothed during a Shiatsu Treatment and may be seated or lying down.

Lomi Lomi

Based on sacred Hawaiian healing techniques, Lomilomi is often regarded as the “Rolls Royce” of relaxation massages.  It incorporates long, sweeping over- & under-body strokes to promote a deep sense of wholeness and an opening of the heart in the spirit of Aloha.  Sessions may include Hawaiian energy practices and the use of hot stones and crystals.

Integrative Bodywork

Deep, slow strokes using body butter to target muscle fascia and deeper layers of the body. Sessions are tailored to the clients’ needs and aim to target underlying causes of physical strain and tension. May include relaxation therapy, visualization, guided meditation and/or discussions regarding changes to lifestyle. Clients may request a more flowing, relaxation-style massage, or a focus on head, neck & shoulders.

Hawaiian Hot Stone Massage

Massage routine utilising the therapeutic properties of heat and pressure in hand-selected volcanic stones to melt away layers of tension.

Kahi Loa

Ancient Hawaiian shamanic practices which combine energy techniques & light touch to facilitate specific healing of mind, body & spirit. The inclusion of sound, special oils & crystals may enhance this process. Performed with client partially or fully clothed.

The Wohlman Method

A unique healing expereince that combines massage, body sculpting and stretching with guided imagery,  visualization, breathwork and affirmations. Like nothing else you have ever experienced! Physical release - Emotional release - Creative Release.

Freeing the stress, retraining the bodies unconscious patterns so that you can fine tune your physical and emotional self to allow your creative and innate healing energy to flow.
